IBM ika International Business Machines

It's amusing when many people have the same reaction when I tell them I'm working at IBM. "IBM ! wow..buy pc got discounts??" or "Oh IBM sell laptops right and ...whatelse???"

I think I should update the fact that IBM has sold off its PC business to a China-based company known as Lenovo http://www.lenovo.com/us/en/. IBM manufactures and sell computer hardware (systems, servers, storage & printers) , software (Information Management, Lotus, Rational, Tivoli & Wepshere) & software services, infrastructure and hosting services, consulting services in areas ranging from mainframe computers to nanotechnology, provide training and certification, as well as financing.

But I don't blame them for misunderstanding because there isnt much publicity of its other services here in Singapore as compared to the US.

Guilty Indulgence

Shopping with friends is so nice

Went shopping with my gal pals at Far East Plaza today. My achievement consists of 4 blouses, 1 skirt, 1 pants, 1 revlon eyeshadow, a pair of earrings & a sushi mat. Total damage = 200 bucks. I am not really a shopping fanatic, and having a boyfriend who doesn't like shopping hasnt been very helpful either. I do feel guilty when spending too much on shopping or any other indulgences, especially so when my financial planner who does half-yearly assessment of my finances question me on the slow growth of my savings.

But shopping is more pleasant with a friend

Choco Therapy

Finally the weekend is here again.It has been a tiring week.Next week may be worse, major proposal week. And i have conference calls on Sat & Sun. : ( Well, I'm just going to have to find some quiet spot in Town where i can take the calls at 5pm. Having had Mum's Choco Fudge Cake from Choco Bloc today, chased all the blues away, because today is my collegue Sarah's birthday. I was hit by the blues bug for almost this whole week. Chocolate therapy is the best.

Hylexin Serious Dark Circles

The word "Serious" seems so enticing

It's hail as a "Not an ordinary eye cream, dark circle breakthrough". I certainly hope it lives up to its name. Its selling for around 203 bucks in Singapore for 23.07 ml..gosh.Huimin manage to get for me from San Francisco at Macy's for i think about $164.80, and it also comes with another free 11ml. Very worth it.

Its a highly concentrated formula that helps reduce appearance for SERIOUS dark circles and chronic puffiness surrounding the orbital eye area. Although it is said that the best solution for darkrings is to have enough sleep and water, and there is ABSOLUTELY no cure for darkrings. BUT there is no way i am gona get enough sleep anyway and I can only hope for this lastest product to perform its miracle.

Met up with my gal pals on Friday for clubbing at Zouk. Prior to that, I met up with Sharon so she could return my prison break season 1 dvds and also pass me the season 2 which she had graciously burned for me. Yiting was with me as well when we met up with her.

The person who's distinctly missing in the photos is Shuxian because she is late as usual, and by the time she arrives my camera ran out of battery. As of how she got into Zouk free was another close shave because the bouncer seems very suspicious of the IC and Citibank Clear Card she was using to get free entry (the cards were mine). He tested her by getting her to sign the signature which was showing on the back of my card, twice, because he says the first attempt does not match. Thank goodness my signature is easy to forge, erm, not that is a good thing damn...Anyway its pretty obvious he knows but he let it pass..haha

2 days of service recovery

It has been 2 tiring days helping my collegue to clean up the "mess" she unwittingly created. I often wonder why do newcomers face difficulty adjusting and picking up my department's job scope. Noobs aside, even those who have been with us for a year is still acting like a noob. It's not difficult just to pause and think about the hows, dos and don'ts, right? Anyway i have observed that people tend to forget to ask the 2 most important, yet basic questions. "WHY?" and "HOW?". Then whenever whatever happens, they goes like "OOps" and "Huh". geez...anyway..

Shuxian is back! Back for good (for the time-being) maybe...not sure tho..and we are going clubbing this weekend. Can't wait to get the prison break season 2 dvds from Sharon ! My silly bit torrent doesn't work. Tried everything from BitTornado to BitComet to removing all the damn firewalls and adding the port no.s to my router config, nothing works. Prison break is reaallly addictive! One of the best tv shows i have seen so far. Hope the hylexin dark ring eye-cream better works (it costs a bloody bomb!!!) because i gona foresee the lack of sleep once i get my hands on the dvds haha.

New lease of Life

Pretty lame..but anyway..decided to do some planting in my office after seeing my collegue's cute plant starts flowering. She generously gave me one of the leaves so i can start another new lease of life..

Step Up

Watched Step Up at cineleisure last night. Great movie! Love the groove and the dance choreography. Love the lead actors as well..

Sigh..I almost wanted to take up dance at Laselle when I couldn't get into Architecture in NUS. Ha..But the pragmatic side of me is stronger and it's a risky move since its my future at stake.

Anyway after the movie, i really feel like clubbing! After having a hell of a halloween party at zouk 2 weeks ago, I have been itching to go clubbing again. I feel like a trapped animal who's been unleashed. Used to club alot when i was in my uni days. Then the fever died down. Every wed there's Mambo Night at Zouk, but back in those days there wasn't any ladies night so it really burned holes in my pocket. (Boy..feeling old now) So kinda got pretty broke and the interest started to wane.

So i got home and downloaded the whole Step Up soundtrack. And i found this cool Step Up - Dance Mix on youTube. Seriously kudos to youTube.

The Amazing Race Asia

Caught the replay of the Amazing Race Asia today on AXN. To my surprise, its pretty entertaining, though Allan Wu was a tad too stiff with his i-try-to-be serious look..haa..I was crossing my fingers for the SG team not to come in last, though in the initial stage of the race things dun seem to look too good for them...lucky not. I am glad the Sri Lanka "gay" team were still in it. They add pretty much entertainment to the show, so do the Indian male models. Of course, my ever "racist" brother can't help but scorn and laugh at our "black" counterparts throughout the whole show. Geez...

I have yet to "beautify" my blog..looking very plain. Well shall see how it goes...
